About

MISSION STATEMENT: High Country Artists is a non profit cooperative organization of artists formed to create, share and foster art in the community. In accordance with our goals, members are encouraged to donate their time as well as their work to other non profit organizations. Thereby helping to develop a network of community service organizations

All ages, children to adult, are welcome. Members meet regularly to paint, write, critique, and learn – with a bit of hiking, field trips, and photography thrown in for good measure! Members display their art throughout the three-story Carpenter House Museum on a rotating basis.  HCA holds monthly business meetings the first Friday of each month at 1:00 PM at the Carpenter House.

The Carpenter House Museum and Art Gallery is open Friday through Sunday, noon to 4:00, throughout the year.

The Carpenter House Museum and Art Gallery is located at 302 West 3rd Street in Cle Elum, WA – an 80-mile scenic drive from Seattle.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership in the HIGH COUNTRY ARTISTS association is open to all, children to adult, who have a creative interest. Membership fees range from $30 – $120 per year, depending on level of membership.

GALLERY I members shall: Vote at monthly general meetings; Display and sell approved art in the gallery commissioned at 25%; Utilize art workshop space; Attend classes at a discount; Host the gallery during open hours on an equal rotation basis; Join the Historical Society; Pay $10 per month dues on the first Friday of the month at the general meeting or mail the dues to the Treasurer in a timely manner; Have the option of becoming a lifetime member by paying a one time fee of $2500 for which all the above privileges and responsibilities are the same except monthly dues are no longer collected.

ASSOCIATE members may: Attend monthly general meetings as a non-voting member; Display and sell approved art in the gallery during August and September, commissioned at 30%; Join open workshop days as a guest of a gallery member; Attend classes; Assist a gallery member in hosting on open gallery days and/or other events. ASSOCIATE members need to bring their art work to the gallery one week before the 1st of August or September on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday between Noon and 4:00, and then pick up their work at the end of September. Special arrangements are made with the Display Manager. Fee is $50 per year.

PATRON members may: Attend monthly general meetings as a non-voting member; Join open workshop days as a guest of a gallery member; Attend classes. A minimum donation of $30 is recommended.
