Do stop in to see the Fresh Air Art on Display throughout the month of July, along with an exhibit of paintings created by our very own V. (Ginger) Stogdell.  Ginger’s paintings are about how shapes, textures, values and composition join with imagination to speak of the many flavors of life. Her creativity goes in many directions.  She is always exploring new ways of doing, new ways of seeing, and new ways of thinking. Ginger is a member of `The Write Stuff’, HCA’s writers group, and teaches beginning art for all ages.

Public Reception Saturday April 10th, 1pm-4pm

High Country Artist Karen Watland says “I am trending towards painting full time and even went so far as selling my horses to allow myself this time. Doing just about everything you could do with horses was a lifetime hobby of mine, but I felt it was time to switch to something less demanding physically. I will just paint them now from all the photos I took during that time.  Horses aren’t the only subject I love to paint. For my current show during the month of April at the Carpenter House Museum & Art Gallery I have painted Musicians, Rock Climbers and will have up Western paintings I created for the Spirit of The West in Ellensburg. My medium is varied as always using acrylics, oils and watercolors.  I paint for pleasure rather than to become a famous artist and make millions (LOL!). As a result, anyone can buy my originals for the same price other artists sell their prints for.  Originals are longer lasting and are much more vibrant and textural than prints. Plus, you will only see one like it anywhere.”

Watland’s art will be on display at the Carpenter House Museum & Art Gallery from April 3rd through April 25th. She will be on hand to show her art and answer questions throughout her show at the Gallery, open Fridays through Sundays, noon to 4:00. In response to the poor economy, Karen will give discounts to those visiting this April Art Show. Her photography of local scenes will also be for sale in 8×10 ’s for only $10 each.

Kathy Weber is the featured artist at the gallery for the month of February.  Weber’s painting style leans toward realism. She recreates the world around her primarily in oils, but also works with pastels. Weber has developed quite a following of art fans who appreciated her realistic creations and attention to detail. Pursuing growth, however, she’s currently experimenting with other mediums and a looser style. She’ll be sharing some of her experimental creations along with her more traditional artwork during her February exhibit. Stop in for a visit at the Carpenter House during open hours, Friday – Sunday, noon to 4 pm and enjoy her show.

The Carpenter House Museum and Art Gallery will be closed to the public for the month of January and re-open Friday, February 5th.

Mother-Daughter Art Show on Display

High Country Artist Sharon J. Robertson is exhibiting her art pieces alongside those of her mother, Florence Robertson, at the Carpenter House Gallery during the month of December.  Sharon is a self-taught designer, artist and writer who works with mixed media to produce graphite drawings, CP paintings as well as photography and embroidery design.  Sharon enjoys discovering old black and white photos that she can bring to life and match with stories and poems from her past.  You can preview Sharon’s art online at www.optexfabrixstudio.com.

Also on display is the beautiful collection of art works created by the High Country Artist Associate members, on exhibit through the month of December.  The second floor of the gallery is completely full of beautiful pieces completed by Mary Ann Adams, Bob Burger, Julia Burger, Nancy Cary, Mary Kay Johnson, Janice Scheopner, Jim Schleis, June Shull, Tish Siegel, and Jenny Smith.

Come and enjoy the beautiful art display and festive Christmas decorations on view now during December!  The Carpenter House Museum and Art Gallery is open Friday through Sunday, noon to 4:00.

The Carpenter House Gallery is currently showcasing new art pieces created by our High Country Artists.   Bonnie Hawk’s works, featuring watercolors, oils, photography and pastels, will be on display during the month of November.  In addition to the Hawk Exhibit, several High Country Associate Members are exhibiting their latest pieces now through December in the Gallery, among them being Mary Ann Adams, Bob Burger, Julia Burger, Nancy Cary, Mary Kay Johnson, Janice Scheopner, Jim Schleis, June Shull, Tish Siegel, and Jenny Smith. Their mediums range from oils, acrylics, pastels, and watercolors to giclee prints and silk screens.  Also on display in the Gallery’s 3^rd Floor are art pieces depicting local scenes of the Kittitas Valley.  Please clear your schedule now to visit the Gallery and view this delightful display between Noon and 4:00 P.M., Friday through Sunday.

ART CLASSES BEING OFFERED NOW AT THE GALLERY

V. (Ginger) Stogdell is offering a Beginner art class ‘Painting From Scratch’ which meets each Friday, from Noon to 1:00, and the cost is $70.   Following that class, she will coach aspiring artists during the afternoon and give guidance as needed.  The Coached Art is $10.00 per session.  Sessions are ongoing and will run every Friday afternoon during the winter.  Ginger can be contacted at artist.roslyn@gmail.com.

KAUZLARICH EXHIBIT NOW AT THE CARPENTER HOUSE

Gerald and Charlene Kauzlarich have hung their new creations in the Carpenter House for the month of October.  Gerald has been painting with oils since 2001 to create surrealistic images of his thoughts, emotions, and dreams.  His wife, Charlene, has gathered together some of her recent photographs taken locally and from a recent cruise up the Inland Passage of Alaska.  They look forward to seeing you at the Carpenter House this month – open Fridays through Sundays, Noon to 4:00.
